Vickie Hildreth is the visionary owner and founder of Sassafras Salon & Spa, established in 2025. An award-winning massage therapist since 2009 and a seasoned hairstylist since 1990, Vickie brings decades of passion, artistry, and care to every corner of her business. A proud wife, mother of four, and “Mimi,” her world revolves around both her family and her salon—truly her life’s work.

When she’s not at Sassafras, you’ll find her spending time with her beloved friends and family. Vickie has a true gift for listening to her clients and making them feel good from the inside out. She thrives in the massage room and behind the chair, especially when creating her signature short cuts, delivering both confidence and care with every service.

Manager & Hairstylist

Haley Marie Lawson is the behind-the-scenes powerhouse of Sassafras Salon & Spa, serving as the salon’s chaos coordinator, manager, and Vickie’s right hand. A stylist since 2017 and recognized as one of the top stylists in the Columbus area, Haley brings both talent and heart to everything she does.

She is deeply passionate about building genuine relationships with her clients—truly loving each one—while creating beautiful hair is just the bonus. Haley thrives behind the chair, especially when stacking foils to achieve the ultimate blonde or rich, dimensional color. When she’s not running the salon or working her magic, you’ll find her at home with her husband and twins, soaking up every moment of family life.

Hairstylist

Dee Arihood has been in the beauty industry for 25 years and has been part of the Sassafras family since the very day the doors opened. She has a true passion for highlighting and creating the perfect blonding experience, helping each guest feel confident, refreshed, and radiant.

Dee’s love for the industry is deeply rooted in the unwavering confidence her mother instilled in her over the years, shaping not only her career but the way she connects with every client who sits in her chair. She brings both experience and heart into her work, always striving to make each appointment feel personal and uplifting.

Outside of the salon, Dee is a devoted wife and a proud mom to her daughter, who is at the center of everything she does. She also loves spending time with her family and nurturing her ever-growing collection of plants. Dee’s chair is a place where beauty, warmth, and genuine connection come together.

Hairstylist

Kristin Mohr has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years and has truly loved every minute of it. Known for her precision and attention to detail, she is a perfectionist when it comes to haircutting—especially her signature blunt line bobs that are both timeless and flawlessly executed. Kristen’s creativity is deeply rooted in her love for the science behind the beauty industry, always wanting to understand the “why” behind every technique.

Outside of the salon, Kristen is nothing short of Wonder Woman—balancing life behind the chair with running a balloon business, raising two kids, being a dedicated wife, and even tending to her mini farm. She brings that same energy into the salon, where she’s not only an incredible stylist but also the one who keeps everyone laughing. Whether you’re in her chair for a transformation or a refresh, you can expect great hair and even better conversation.

Hannah Hernandez completed her education at Paul Mitchell The School Indianapolis in October 2024 and joined the Sassafras Salon & Spa team from the very beginning in 2025. She discovered her love for special occasion styling at just 13 years old and has been following that passion ever since.

Hannah is dedicated to making every client feel like the best version of themselves, bringing a thoughtful touch and genuine care to each service. When she’s not in the salon, you’ll find her spending time with her sisters or enjoying live music at concerts.

Hairstylist

Jeanetta Smith has been in the beauty industry since 1991, bringing decades of experience, passion, and care to every client who sits in her chair. She specializes in haircutting and keratin treatments, with a strong focus on maintaining the health and integrity of the hair—something that truly fuels her work behind the chair.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Jeanetta grew up in a salon environment, which naturally led her to a lifelong career in the industry she loves. Her nurturing spirit shines through in everything she does. She is a proud mom, stepmom, and wife—but her most treasured role is being a nana.

Jeanetta has a genuine heart for people, especially those older and wiser, and she creates a warm, welcoming space where every client feels cared for and valued. Time in her chair feels like catching up with family—while leaving with healthy, beautiful hair.

Nail Technician

Sarah Sharp is Sassafras Salon & Spa’s one and only nail tech—and a true artist in every sense. Since 2025, she has been creating stunning nails and next-level nail art, from timeless, classic manicures to bold, out-of-this-world designs on the tiniest of canvases.

Sarah brings intention to every appointment, educating her clients on nail health and proper care while delivering flawless results. Outside of the salon, she channels that same dedication into Olympic weightlifting training, proving she’s the perfect blend of strength, skill, and creativity—the best of all worlds in one.

Esthetician

Grace Meyers is Sassafras Salon & Spa’s esthetics queen, stepping into the skin game in January 2026 and joining the team that same month. With a passion for healthy, glowing skin, Grace loves educating her clients while building genuine friendships with each and every one.

She especially enjoys lash lifts and tints—creating that perfect high-maintenance look for low-maintenance days. When she’s not in the treatment room, Grace is spending time with her husband and son or indulging in a little retail therapy.

FNP-C

Erica is a certified nurse practitioner with a focus on aesthetic and wellness treatments. She offers Botox, hyperhidrosis treatment, chemical peels, dermaplaning, skincare consultations and products, as well as GLP-1 weight loss medications. Erica combines medical expertise with a personalized approach to help clients look and feel their best.

Massage Therapist

Gracie Balk is a massage therapist at Sassafras who truly embodies the meaning of self-care and relaxation. After spending years working in the physical therapy world, she discovered her passion for massage and went on to graduate in 2026. Her background gives her a unique, thoughtful approach, allowing her to provide care that is both therapeutic and deeply relaxing.

Gracie’s presence is calm, intentional, and genuinely caring—making every client feel comfortable, restored, and valued. The experience she creates on the table is unmatched, and she is truly a blessing to everyone she works with.

Newer to the Columbus area, Gracie enjoys spending her free time exploring the community with her boyfriend and making memories with her siblings and family. Whether you’re looking to unwind or reset, Gracie’s care will leave you feeling your absolute best.

Esthetician

Donna Avery has been an esthetician since 2017, bringing both passion and purpose to her work after relocating from Alaska. Her love for esthetics began at just 17 years old when she received her first professional facial—an experience that sparked a lifelong dedication to helping others feel confident in their own skin.

Donna finds true fulfillment in creating a space where clients can decompress, recharge, and leave feeling both beautiful and renewed. She especially loves performing customized facials and brow services, where she can combine relaxation with results-driven care.

When she’s not thriving at Sassafras, Donna is at home with her fiancé and son, often singing along to all the best 2000s pop hits. She’s always looking for ways to grow within the beauty industry, continuously learning and evolving her craft to better serve her clients.
